CAMP PERRY, Ohio – Those looking for a place to fire in recreational rifle competition during the fall will have a chance on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, as the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) hosts an As-Issued M1 Garand, Springfield, Vintage and Modern Military (GSMM) Match on Petrarca Range at Camp Perry. Registration opens on Oct. 16.
The event, held on CMP’s electronic targets, is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. and will follow the As-Issued Military Course A course of fire. Official competition rules can be found online by visiting http://thecmp.org/competitions/cmp-comp ... rulebooks/
The event is open to both adult and junior competitors. An entry fee of $40 will be required for adults and $25 for juniors. A limit of six relays will be allowed for the match, and competitors may only fire once, so sign up early! Competitors will have an additional opportunity to shoot at Camp Perry as the Friends of Camp Perry (FoCP) will hold their Combat Rifle Shoot (aka Snowflake Shoot) on the same day (November 10th) at the Modified Record Rifle Range on Camp Perry, in Port Clinton, Ohio. Shooting will start at 9AM and run until there are no more shooters or 4PM, whichever comes first. Each relay will shoot 40 rounds at 40 targets using no larger than .308 caliber ammunition. NO FULL AUTO FIREARMS WILL BE ALLOWED! Food and beverages will be available with registration starting at 8AM. First relay $30.00 donation includes membership in FoCP.
