I have an Arex Rex Zero 1 CP that i bought about 3 months ago and there is something wrong with the decocker. When i push the slide back and push the decocker up, it holds the slide back in place fine but when i push down on the decocker to release the slide stop it doesn't work. It's not pulling the slide stop down like it used to and i have to fiddle with the slide to get it to release.
Is this a common problem? Also, while i'm new to guns, i'm pretty mechanically inclined. Is this the kind of repair that can be done by a layman or would it be better for a professional? I imagine this would probably be a warranty repair, but, looking online, a replacement part would be about $20 so it may be worth it to me to just fix it myself. I just need to figure out which part broke - the decocker or the slide stop.
