Shotgun optic thoughts

Post by Morne »

So...thinking of getting a rail and a reflex sight for my Stoeger M3000 to use in competition. Kinda like the idea of a ring reticle. Best choices? Links appreciated.

I'm running a Holosun 503R on my 1301. Dot, ring, or doughnut of death. Makes for easy ranging for my loads to keep acceptable patterning on target, and the dot is zero'd for slugs.

Why not the 510/512/515?

I have a 510 on my Scorpion. It's tall, much much taller than what will work with a cheeckweld for my beretta. It's like running an aimpoint on a lower 1/3 on a rail on top of the receiver for my gun.

It was also about $100 cheaper.

Wait - their website shows the 510 being lower than the 503.

You're looking at the dimensions for both including the mounts (Intregal on the 510). Lower 1/3 mounts are typically 1.57 inches tall, so subtract that from the 503 for the measurement of the optic itself.

Unbolt the 503C from the included riser and it is the same size as an Aimpoint Micro (like the T-1, H-1, etc. series).
