***CHRONY DATA***
65 F, 29.82" Hg, 57%RH
Chiappa Rhino with 4" barrel
Remington 158-gr SJHP AVERAGE = 1230 fps - ES = 38
Sellier & Bellot 158-gr FMJ AVERAGE = 1067 fps - ES = 50
Speer Gold Dot 158-gr AVERAGE = 1108 fps - ES = 63
Buffalo Bore 140-gr JHP Short-Barrel AVERAGE = 1197 fps - ES = 80
Speer Gold Dot 135-gr Short Barrel AVERAGE = 1146 fps - ES = 17
For various reasons I had the chrony out to play today and figured I would check the Chiappa Rhino 4" with a mess of factory loads. Notice how slow the S&B load is. The short barrel offerings from both Buffalo Bore and Speer do just fine.

That Remington 158gr load looks pretty impressive for a factory load. I know you are a big-bore magnum guy so recoil isn't a thing for you, but how did the recoil from that compare to the other 158gr loads?
I'd have thought the Speer loads would do better - the 135gr load is producing velocities I'd have expected from the 158gr load.
As always, I enjoy seeing the data you produce in your tests.

Remington has always made the fastest loads. Their bullet technology isn’t as good, though. And yeah, you could tell you were shooting a big boy recipe. But in the Rhino it is still pretty tame.
The Speer 135-gr is a short-barrel load. It doesn’t have to go as fast for that bullet design.
