Buckeye Firearms Foundation is hosting a Cincinnati area trauma medical class this Saturday in Springdale.
Still a couple of seats available here: http://events.r20.constantcontact.com/r ... j9a157ed9b" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

JLE

2019 Tactical First Aid - May 4

Course Summary:

If you train regularly, you should be ready to defend yourself with a gun or knife. But are you prepared to deal with the life threatening injuries you may face in the aftermath?

Bullet wounds and knife punctures or slashes can cut arteries and cause you to bleed out in minutes. Based on tested and proven battlefield trauma care techniques, this course is designed to give you the tools and know-how to stop the bleed fast so that emergency rescue has time to arrive at the scene and render professional medical aid.

Plus, these techniques can save lives in many other situations, such as serious injuries at home, automobile crashes, natural disasters, and more.

OPTIONAL TRAUMA KIT:

All supplies and equipment needed for this class will be provided for you. However, if you want to purchase a Basic Personal Trauma Kit for your home or auto, you can order this kit on the registration page for $65 and we'll have it for you to pick up at the class.

It's a zippered nylon carrying case complete with:

1 x C-A-T® Tourniquet
1 x 6 in. Responder ETD (Emergency Trauma Dressing)
2 x NAR Compressed Gauze
2 x Pair, Bear Claw Nitrile Gloves, Large
1 x NAR Trauma Shears, 7.25 in.
1 x Permanent Marker, Small
1 x Just in Time Instruction Card
1 x PVC Bleeding Control Patch
1 x Red Nylon Bag
Course Length/Hours:

1 Day - 9:00am-4:00pm (1 hour free for lunch off-site)

Qualifies for 6 CEC hours.

Course Cost:

$99. Includes class instruction and hands-on training.

A portion of your entry fee benefits Buckeye Firearms Association.

I added two Intermediate vacuum sealed BCKs for $62.99/pc and the discount code only gave me $10 off. It should be quite a bit more than that based on my simple math.
Good luck and stand fast, true Patriots.

That's odd, I would contact them directly if I were you.
just tried it here and the result looks right to me.

2 X Bleeding Control Kit - STB (Item # 85-1574) - $66.65
Subtotal $133.30
Discount (National STB Month 25% off) -$33.33
Order Total $99.97

Ahh when I try to apply it to the the BCR kits (Item 85-2066) it doesn't take. I think it has something to do with the statement "RETAIL Community Preparedness Products" the discount works on the Kit I linked in the OP but not on the BCR kits you are trying to purchase. When I try to apply the code to the BCR kit it flatout says code isn't valid and deducts nothing.

Bruenor:

If you've got a wife or mostly adult female child (or a girlfriend you're reasonably able to discuss this with :D) , and can't do it yourself, you can substitute relatively ordinary tampons and napkins for a lot of this stuff with reasonable results.

(Sherri's a bit outside of the need for this stuff, but Becka isn't....)

IAC, it's quite sensible to re-load the supply bag anyway.

Regards,
Stu.

(Why write a quick note when you can write a novel?)

(Why do those who claim to wish to protect me feel that the best way to do that is to disarm me?)

Not sure if you're just pulling my leg here...
Using FHP to stop the bleed ranks up there with some other common myths.
While you _might_ be able to make it work, they are clean but not sterile, and are not a replacement for the proper items, a tourniquet and or hemostatic gauze.

Here's a couple references from a few people that do emergency trauma training.
