Looking for optic locally - Bushnell Elite HDMR II series.

Post by Bruenor »

Trying to find someone that carries the Bushnell Elite Series rifle scopes, or someone local to NEO that owns one. I'd like to put my eye to glass before having to order one online and more than willing to support a local shop that has one if I like it.
I've checked Cabeles, and the Fin but they only carry the low end Bushnell optics.

I keep seeing statements like this in the reviews I've found

I have updated the second post to reflect the final review results of the DMR II-i. It compares very nicely to optics costing over twice the price.
I had been considering one of the Vortex PST FFP Scopes, but this looks like better glass for the money, based on the reviews, unless I want to jump to a Razor HD, Nightforce, US Optics or similar at twice the price or more.

Thanks for looking

I can’t tell you anything about the Bushnell, but I can advise hesitation about the Vortex PST line. I bought one 2x10x32 (IIRC) Gen 1 - two trips back, free replacement, one trip back, sold on eBay with full disclosure. They do honor their warranty, true, just didn’t want to use it so often. And you pay the shipping back to them.

I’ve never had a scope that wouldn’t hold exact zero during a single range session without magnification changes before or after except one $20 old 22 scope on a shot out Marlin 60. PSTs aren’t $20.

YMMV

The Zeiss optics are very nice but that's over the the price range I was trying to stay in.. :( The Bushnell scope I mentioned comes in at $1500.00
It seems once you get in the $2500-4000 range, there are a lot of decent options. Zeiss, March, Nightforce, US Optics, the list goes on.

Was shooting for under $2000.00 out the door, may need rings etc., depending on size of the tube. First Focal Plane, HD glass, and possibly a Horus reticle (or similar). Tall order for the specified price range.
