Apparently a no guns sign is not a magic talisman against a armed murderer, even though it has the force of law in Ohio. Who knew?
I'm shocked!
SPRINGFIELD — A Springfield bar has announced it will halt operations after a man was shot and killed on Thanksgiving.
Around 11:30 p.m. Springfield police were called to Club Hollywood on East Pleasent Street to reports of a man shot and unresponsive.
Police found a man dead from a gunshot wound.
The bar said on social media they have made it clear to customers that weapons are not allowed inside the bar.
“We have made the decision to pause our operations until further notice,” the social media post states.
911 calls obtained by News Center 7 detail the hectic scene following the shooting.
“Somebody just got shot inside,” one caller tells dispatchers. “He’s dead.”
None of the 911 callers had any details about who shot the man.
Thankfully whoever it was (the police don't know who yet) didn't go in to commit a mass murder, just shot one person. If he or she had it would've been just like the bar in Maine, with nationwide coverage and more calls for more gun laws that are ignored by people motivated to murder someone.

I'm sure some business group would or will lobby heavily against a change in the current law, saying it will be a hard burden on business owners, but the fact is that not having no guns signs carry the force of law works just fine in literally every state around Ohio.
