Thank You OFCC

Post by OhioMike »

I would like to thank OFCC and Atty. Donald Galick for their support in
my fight to obtain my Ohio CWP. Without them I would not have been
able to get as far as I have. I will be posting the outcome here in the
next 7-14 days

Good luck Mike. It never ceases to amaze me at the number of people who nit-pick the law,as the reason they will not get their CCL. Then we have individuals like yourself, that will go to the lengths you have,to exorcise these same freedoms. The law we have right now with all of it's flaws,is better than what we had before. :)

lol @ ^5

I remember reading your story. I knew the details were unfortunate for you. It's good to see that that might finally come to light. I too am grateful for ALL of OFCC's help, including what they're doing for you. Good luck indeed.

That is indeed good news. (Oh, it's no longer right on the home page - here's the link - OFCC Member Denied CHL Making Progress)

Still, the entire expungement/record sealing mess really needs to be straightened out. I don't think there's another state that does it that way.

Finally!!!

Post by OhioMike »

Finally.....

It looks like I will be granted my license in about 10 days. A few weeks ago
I was back in court, this time in Lorain County. The court proceedings were
to have my full and complete gun rights restored. After the County did an
exhaustive background check I had my day in Court. The prosecutor found no
grounds to deny my request and the Judge was very understanding in this matter.

Thanks again to OFCC and Attorney Donald Gallick. OFCC for all your support
and to Attorney Gallick for all his hard work. Now when I get my Ohio license
I will have a total of 3 as I all ready have one with Florida and Virginia.

I highly suggest that members here continue to support OFCC financially as
well as following their lead in supporting the politicians who are trying
to make a difference and uphold our gun rights.

Thanks!

Cool to hear. You'll post back when you have it, right?

This is why I say every gun owner should get a CHL, and even pro choice people on gun ownership who choose not to own a handgun, or any gun for that matter, but support those that do.

Mike -
Great! If I do indeed move back up there following retirement from Uncle Sam's Canoe Club in about nine months perhaps we can look into how to undo the soup sandwich the legislature made of the whole expungement issue back in '87 - nobody should have had to go through what you did, but maybe we can at least help those that come later...
