Thank you Ladies and the Men too.

Post by gimp »

I wanted to post a thank you to all who contribute to this forum. :D

The other week I was at work (3rd shift) and my wife was home alone in the appartment. She recieved a phone call about 1:30am asking for me and when the caller discovered I wasn't home he then told her a bizzare story about our daughter smoking pot down the street. Well we have been married less than 2 months ago and neither of us has any kids. She called me at work and told me the story as if it were odd and funny. I thought about it for a few min and called her back informing her that just in case someone was trying to determine if I was home or night she might want to consider moving the .45 closer to her side of the bed. Well she later told me she stayed up almost all night, her heart racing at any odd noises. During the course of the night, since she couldn't sleep, she decided to spend some time online. She said that the one thing that was most comforting to her was reading these forums, specifically she mentioned the women's issues area, and how that led her to the cornered cat website. As she read she realized how much more secure she felt knowing that she had the tools and the training to defend herself in her home if it came down to that. I am still working on her getting her CHL but I can't say how proud I am of her  , she goes to the range with me, and has taken quite a liking to my .45 reloads. Most of all though I wanted to say thanks to those here on this forum for giving her some comfort on what otherwise would have been a fear filled evening.

Welcome from one of the few women who hangs around the guys. They do put up with me pretty well.

I took my CHL classes back in '04, and got my CHL in April that year. It was painless, and actually kind of fun. Hubby noticed I out-shot some of the men, and was quite proud of me. I was too focused to notice.

My husband works 24 hour shifts, so I know about long nights and scary sounds. I haven't had any odd phone calls, though.
