Meet, Greet, Shoot & Eat Event
July 19, 2008

Upon arrival, we’ll gather inside the Club House. A brief welcome and introduction will be followed by the Safety Meeting and signing of liability waivers. Once that’s completed, the day’s festivities can begin!

Since this is a shooting event, safety rules must be followed – just like any IDPA or other organized shooting event. All participants must comply with the Range Master or Safety Officer’s instructions.

· No alcoholic beverages will be permitted on Salem Hunting Club property during this event.

· Guns to be fired during the event must remain unloaded and holstered or cased when not at the firing line.

· The Range Master/Safety Officer will give the command to load your firearm when your course of fire is to begin; do not load your firearm until told to do so!

· After you’ve completed the particular string of firing for that course, the Range Master or Safety Officer will ask you to demonstrate that your gun is clear. Do not leave the firing line until the Range Master or Safety Officer gives you explicit permission to do so.

Rules of Gun Safety
RULE I: All guns are always loaded
RULE II: Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy
RULE III: Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target
RULE IV: Be sure of your target (and what’s beyond it)

Items To Bring

· $3.00 registration fee for attendees over 12 years of age

. Your CCW gun and if desired, a plinker (handgun) for target shooting.

· At least 100 rounds of practice ammunition; 300 rounds would be even better

· Eye and ear protection for everyone in your party (including non-shooters)

· Holsters (preferred but not mandatory)

. Extra magazines and/or speed loaders

· Proper clothes for the weather; this could include rain gear/boots, hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

· Folding chairs

· Snacks (there will be bottled water and sodas on hand)
Following the event, we’ll adjourn for a meal. The cost of your meal will be your responsibility (it’s not included in the $3.00 contribution).

Any questions can be directed to Me or McM.

And we'll have fun, fun, fun until our guns run dry...... :D

I am planning to attend and will be bringing my 22 year old son.
I will be bringing the following to shoot:

Kimber Custom ULE 1911 with 3” barrel
Kimber Custom CDP 1911 with 3” barrel
Kimber Custom Raptor 1911 with 4” barrel
Sig Sauer P239 .40
Walther PPK/S .380
My son will have his XD .40

I will bring:
500 rounds .45 reloads and 500 rounds Blazer Aluminum cased.
1,000 rounds .40 reloads
1,000 rounds .380 factory

I will permit (within reason), (and under my supervision) others to shoot any of the guns I bring. So if you’re thinking of purchasing a 1911, or have never shot one, here’s your chance.

Instead of heading to a local restaurant, we're leaning towards having pizzas brought in.

This will give us an opportunity to socialize in a relaxed atmosphere and not worry about CPZ's.

The Clubs Clubhouse is plenty big, with large tables and lots of chairs.

However...the option is still open to head out and eat .

I have a place in mind (not a CPZ) that is only 5 minutes from the Club, unless there is a head wind.

Please speak up if you have a preference.

Jake:

My preference is the non-CPZ down the road, but I can always put something I can eat (can't do pizza, unfortunately) in a cooler. No demands....

OTOH, if you're talking "Burger King".... :D

The time frame is :

12:00 to 12:30ish : Meet at The Clubhouse and get everyone registered and waivers signed plus go over safety issues.

12:30ish to around 4:30 or 5:00: Partake in various shooting events.

We can always cut it shorter, especially if people start running out of ammo, or are just getting burned out. But I don't think I want to go any longer than 5:00.

If it's a blistering hot day, shade can be found right at the Pistol Range plus there is always the Clubhouse.

Count me in. I think doing the Pizzas might be easier for simplicity sake, but I guess that really depends on how many people will be attending.

Honestly, I could go either way with the lunch plans.

I'll be there

Postby w8nra » Wed Jun 18, 2008 7:16 pm

I will be there and my wife is on the thinking list but is moving toward it... She's not really into this that much...

Pizza is good, or a NON-CPZ...

Can we get some directions from the Cleveland area? 480 and 77... I didn't like MapQuest directions they didn't have your address listed...

Thanks
John

On the first post (originally) I inverted the numbers of the address of The SHC.

It's been corrected.

Sorry for the confusion.
