Hawaii has some of the strictest gun laws in the US and being a set of islands guns have to be brought in from somewhere else, so maybe this is fake news?

I heard someone in Chi town once complain that all the gun crime there is the fault of Indiana and Ohio, the guns coming into Chi town illegally. I guess Hawaii can't use this excuse.

Hawaii is a pretty good example of "If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns". It is possible for law abiding residents there to purchase firearms, even handguns, but ridiculously complicated and expensive. Getting a carry license? Nigh onto impossible for non law enforcement.
