I bought a Remington 788 in .223 from my oldest friend when he enlisted in the Navy after his divorce. That was I think 1988.
The 788 had stock sites then and I had to remove the rear site so a scope I had would would fit. I took the front off also and stored them both.
I have NO IDEA where they are! We have moved once since 88..
Is this something a good gunsmith could fit up some sites on the existing tapped holes if I need too?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Can't find my stock sites
A truly good gunsmith could certainly fab something. 788 isn't that uncommon, factory sights can likely be found.

Gramps, if things work for you like they often do for me, you'll find those sights not long after buying replacements. Just happened this morning, with a padlock key I wrote off as lost.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!
