Now "Brand R" has a perfect villain in the Dem led HoR keeping them from advancing the agenda promised to voters in the 2016 campaign. The talking points and excuses have already been cast for 2020. Imagine all the investigations and allegations, the absolute gridlock (unless the GOP caves to Dem demands as they have done so many times in the past)...JustaShooter wrote:Keep in mind, most of what he has said he wants requires changes to law, which means congress must act. Removal of gun-free zones? Congress. Interstate reciprocity? Congress. Removal of suppressors from the NFA? Congress.
But, one could say he *has* acted, since as I understand it he put on hold any rules and regulations put in place by the previous administration that have not yet taken effect, and I believe that includes the changes to add certain SSA recipients to the NICS database and possibly other RKBA related rules and regulations.
Do we recall the previous excuses that lead to the 2016 GOP wins: "We (GOP) don't have the Presidency." "We (GOP) don't have the Senate." Now "We (GOP) ain't got the HoR." Each of these implies that the GOP doesn't hold the proper authority to enact the agenda. They had it for a few years, and squandered it.
So much for the excuses of being impatient, Obama screwing things up, give them some time, POTUS can't go it alone, etc.
Pro RKBA voters got nationally used and abused by the GOP from 2016-2018 (the 2017-2019 Congress, if you wish). Keep it 100.
So, does the lame duck get into gear? Somebody has to have suggested it, right? At least now, on the defensive guard, the GOP won't let any more anti RKBA measures get enacted, right? (Think Positive.)
Wait till ATF enacts the final bumpstock rule later this month, adding insult to injury.
