YouTube Terminates Channel of Firearms Parts Retailer

Post by gilly32 »

This ain't right.

YouTube suddenly terminated the channel for the firearms parts company Brownells, the company claimed on Saturday.

“Brownells’ YouTube channel has been terminated without warning or notice,” Brownells’ Twitter account stated.

"The right to keep and bear arms is rooted in both self-defense and insurance against government’s propensity toward tyranny. The right pre-existed the Constitution. Thus, the Second Amendment is not its source. The right to keep and bear arms is natural and inalienable; the Second Amendment protects it, and Congress has no legitimate power to restrict it." - Senator John Cornyn (R., Tex.), as reported in the National Review on July 4, 2016

Probably their AR build videos. YouTube has very specific new rules...no assembly of full guns, can’t show a
supressor being mounted on the gun etc.

This is what happens with a monopoly.

The response must've been effective :)

From the link:
Update Monday 10:53am: Brownells announced Monday morning on Twitter that their channel has been restored and thanked those who voiced support.

Is suspect they're feeling out exactly what they can get away with... continuously testing the water as well as setting the expectation that channels will eventually be restored (until they're not) to temper the outrage.

There haven't been this many malicious trial balloons since the Germans bombed London with Zeppelins...
