A Dayton man called police early Friday to report that two men had broken into his house, held a gun to his head and ransacked the home before leaving with electronics.
The 46-year-old victim said around 7:30 a.m. he was in the basement of his home in the 1400 block of Canfield Street when the intruders entered through a bathroom window on the first floor.
“He was in his basement getting his work clothes out of the dryer and putting them on,” according to a Dayton Police Department report. “He walked up the steps and as he did so a black male wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt and black work pants shoved the barrel of a semi auto handgun into the left side of (his) head and asked him, ‘Where are the stacks at?’”
Stacks is a term used to refer to cash or stacks of money.
According to the report, the man told the gunman he didn’t have anything, and the gunman’s unseen accomplice said, “The old man doesn’t have anything.”
The victim was ordered to stay in the basement, which he did until the men left through his garage.
To answer the thread title's question, yes. I live in a condo so the laundry room is two flights of stairs away. But even if it was a house, would make no difference.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

To answer the thread title's question, yes. In the morning I get up, get dressed, get armed, and stay that way whether working around the house, going out, whatever. Yes, sometimes I get odd looks and comments from people when they find out, but my answer to them is that once you truly understand that 100% of home invasions happen in the home, I don't see how you can do otherwise.

A [now departed] moron threatened me for removing his close from the dryer after he'd left them there for over an hour (there's only one washer and dryer for the whole complex). I carried doing laundry until he moved out/got evicted.
Life comes at you fast. Be prepared to shoot it in the head when it does.

Laundry is in my house...even when I lived in an apartment for a year when I was in my early 20's I took my laundry to either a girlfriend s house or my parents house, lol.
Didn't need a gun back then...I was invincible I thought
