I'm offended that the media uses a biblical term, Good Samaritan, in all these events like helping an officer, saving somebody, returning lost money, etc., when they work so hard to remove the Ten Commandments, a cross, picture of The Virgin Mary, any religious from anything in the public eye.

I hope the armed citizen was doing it legally [sarcasm] and made sure to notify the cop before jumping in to help, so that the out of control guy knew there were two or more guns within his grasp. [/sarcasm]

Pretty decent video, if the intervening guy didn't notify the cops can probably round him up for arrest later. (This paragraph is almost pure sarcasm too, except for the fact it was Canton of all places.)
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

It's good to see cops and their fellow citizens working together. That's the way it should be. Well done.

and now for the snark...
I dunno. Those civilians were forgetting that the most important thing is to Go Home Safe Every Night. They should have played it safe and shot the perp and the cop. And the scary police dog out in the squad car.
And then claim Immunity.
