Man takes OC firearm...

Open Carry is carrying a firearm unconcealed in Ohio. OC does not require a concealed handgun license, but the practice requires intimate knowledge of the law since there are places and situations where OC is prohibited but carrying concealed would be permitted. OC is also likely to attract attention. This forum is for discussion of OC, not for debating the pro's and con's or coordinating any type of protest events.

Unarmed people are vulnerable people, and criminal predators prey upon them.

Pro Tip: concealed means concealed.
I've had consistently good results with ether.

What make you think this was a OC event?
I have struggled with dyslexia my entire life. I know it's spelled wrong but thanks for pointing it out.

OC requires a higher level of situational awareness.

And a holster with ANY level of retention would be nice.

Because that's what all the anti open carry crowd in the gun community is saying. This is just fodder for them.

Sure that, and also the video which clearly shows that the guy's gun was not concealed.

There' s a difference between being anti-OC and anti- the fantasy that the mere sight of a firearm will make the bad guys leave you alone. Like CC, OC has benefits and drawbacks.

If you try
To take my gun,
I'll shoot you with
The other one.

When the victim gave chase, the thief pointed the victim's own gun at him, ending the pursuit.

The bad guy got away...and never even had to hang up the phone.

What really bugged me is the amount of time it took for the victim to even realize something was happening, let alone what was happening.

Heck, I've done a snap 180 turn just because someone bumped my shoulder.

The gun was in his back pocket, OC. It appears it is his intent to OC because the grip is hanging out like a flag football flag. Was it an event, I don't know but I doubt it. OC in a back pocket is not a good idea for EXACTLY this reason.
God,
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can
and the Wisdom to know the difference.

Carrying a gun is a right, not a crime.

Gun control is racist.

Under Ohio law would it be legal for one without a CHL to carry a pistol in a back pocket with just the grip showing? If not how is it considered OC?

Yes.

Legal, but inadvisable.
