Contact Info Atty Moran

Open Carry is carrying a firearm unconcealed in Ohio. OC does not require a concealed handgun license, but the practice requires intimate knowledge of the law since there are places and situations where OC is prohibited but carrying concealed would be permitted. OC is also likely to attract attention. This forum is for discussion of OC, not for debating the pro's and con's or coordinating any type of protest events.

Does anybody have the email address of Atty Moran? He was the one who helped defend Harley in Waverly.

Hopefully you don't need his legal mind for any trouble. Maybe you just want to say Hello & buy him a cup of coffee.

I was thinking beer instead. And no I haven't been wearing any bracelets lately. My question was about the police using stingray and whether that might be a get out of jail card for any traffic revenue enhancement cases. Apparently local po po have a contract requiring them to drop any case that has that issue raised in court.

There's no such contract. The police don't have authority to drop cases, only prosecutors can do that. And a contract that constrains a prosecutor's discretion to investigate and prosecute violations of the law would be against public policy. Good luck.

Of course, if that type of thing happened in a jurisdiction where the politicians didn't care about "public policy"...

It's also worthy of note that prosecutorial policy can easily intercept such problems. It is not uncommon for federal authorities to say, "we want you to do this, but you cannot do that, and do not expect us to do the other." Under those circumstances, it is not uncommon for local prosecutors to say to the federal authorities, "{pre-deleted expletive}." I once thought I was one of very few who did that, but I have recently learned that these instances are growing.
