Montgomery Inn (Boathouse): Signs gone!

Post by Brian D. »

Montgomery Inn (downtown Cincinnati location) finally got their 'No guns' stickers scraped off the front glass. I apologize for not re-re-reminding my pal Mr. Gregory to get this done sooner.

I do not know if similar action was taken at the original location in Montgomery. Last time I looked the rear entrance had a sticker on one door, but there were none if you came in from the Montgomery Road side.

Nice work, Brian!
Yes, I do believe in open carry. An openly armed man is clear in his intentions. Concealed carriers are sneaks and skulkers and elitist, boot licking, political contribution making, running dog lackies of The Man. <wink> (thx grumpycoconut - OpenCarry.org)

Fantastic, thanks Brian! Just in time for my trip to the Natti in a few weeks. We'll probably wind up going to the original location though but glad to hear of the policy change. Incidentally anyone ever go to the one in Columbus? I'd be curious about that one as well.

Well I don't feel terrific about how long it took, but better late than never I reckon.

I've carried in the original location twice this year, but both times, I came in from the Montgomery Road entrance - thought the signs had been removed some time ago and haven't checked the back recently (I avoid valet parking whether I'm driving my 2014 Jeep or my 1997 Miata).

Attended a cigar dinner at the Boathouse patio last night. These affairs always feature various wines and other spirits that match up with the food and stogies. Friend and fellow CHL'er seated next to me noticed I wasn't partaking in the alcohol and quietly asked "You acting as designated shooter for our group tonight?" This started a rather enjoyable discussion around the table.

Nice to be among a whole crowd of folks who "get it". And aren't ashamed to talk about it. 8)

Nope. But the way you are fed at Montgomery Inn portion-wise--especially at one of these group dinners--they should think about installing a treadmill, rowing machine, sauna, something. "Food coma" is how one frequent attendee describes the after effects of a meal there.

I just got back from the Montgomery location and did not see any signs there, either. Brian is right about food coma, my stomach is pushing my eyes closed.

PMs tonight indicate that the rear entrance is still posted; I had entered through the front. I guess it's still not a done deal.

As mentioned to you and Coordinator Extraordinaire Schmieg via PM's, I'll keep chatting up Dean Gregory about this. He's on our side here, that much I'm certain about. Thing is, others in his family oversee day-to-day operations at the Montgomery location.

Any changes in the months since last post? It is a long drive from Dayton to boathouse for our reservation on all-you-can-eat ribs tonight, and I have no desire to leave a good gun in the car there....

Signs are still gone at the Boathouse location, unless it's been re-stickered in just the last couple weeks.
