You can be ticketed for it in Tx.
I didn't hear anything serious or knowledgeable from these guys. Looks like it turned out to be a "tease" for a future show.

One of them had said Ohio was behind states like Texas where guns were more accepted.

He also said that open carry was a new law! WTH?

Is mental retardation a prerequisite for OPOTA LEO certification? How much bigoted anti-gunner non-sense can these three spew? The LEOs on this board should contact their PBA reps and voice their displeasure at the amount of incorrect nonsense these three shat on upon the public airwaves.

That show... was the most pointless thing I've ever heard. Two seconds of open carry discussion and A LOT of ignorant b.s.

The one following it, however, is pretty interesting.

Listening tonight 1-4-2009. So far, 40 minutes dealing with Vinnie the Bookie. This is a police public information program that is telling us how to gamble illegally? WOW. Finally, at the 42nd minute we have a spokesman for open carry and the introduction is that "we don't have a lot of time for this" - I'm paraphrasing. Our spokesperson is good at keeping these program moderators on-task; their first response is "not a good idea." Our spokeserson brought them back with "it requires training." Now the moderators are advertising this as a "tease". Jim Irvine is there and the next part will be interesting- IF they let him speak. The moderators sound like amateurs, not prior experienced Police or Federal Officers. But then again, based upon what I 've heard, this explains our problem with some law enforcement....
Now, they have switched after 6 minutes on open carry at best, to the guy who helped recover a space capsule. Am I missing something here??? The program is called: CALL THE COPS not Call NASA. I'm very disappointed and will call the station tomorrow to voice my opinion.

I rolled this from the Lounge - Mods locked it. Sorry I didn't know they had opened another thread - :|

Did you catch the directive that if a patrolman is fighting a losing battle with a suspect we should never approach lest we misinterpret or cause more problems for the LEO?

Maybe that's correct if you assume we're all morons.
