Meet, Greet, Shoot & Eat Event
Oct. 11, 2008Location:The Salem Hunting Club
549 Indiana Blvd.
Salem, Ohio 44460
http://www.salemhuntingclubofohio.comUpon arriving, we’ll gather inside the Club House. A brief welcome and introduction will be followed by the Safety Meeting and signing of liability waivers. Once that’s completed, the day’s festivities can begin!
Since this is a shooting event, safety rules must be followed – just like any IDPA or other organized shooting event. All participants must comply with the Range Master or Safety Officer’s instructions.
· No alcoholic beverages will be permitted on Salem Hunting Club property during this event.
· Guns to be fired during the event must remain unloaded and holstered or cased when not at the firing line.
· The Range Master/Safety Officer will give the command to load your firearm when your course of fire is to begin; do not load your firearm until told to do so!
· After you’ve completed the particular string of firing for that course, the Range Master or Safety Officer will ask you to demonstrate that your gun is clear. Do not leave the firing line until the Range Master or Safety Officer gives you explicit permission to do so.
Rules of Gun SafetyRULE I: All guns are always loaded
RULE II: Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy
RULE III: Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target
RULE IV: Be sure of your target (and what’s beyond it)
Items To Bring
· $5.00 registration fee for attendees over 12 years of age
. Your CCW gun and if desired, a plinker (handgun) for target shooting.
· At least 100 rounds of practice ammunition. Bring extra if you can. (Better to have too much than not enough.)
· Eye and ear protection for everyone in your party (including non-shooters)
· Holsters
. Extra magazines and/or speed loaders
· Proper clothes for the weather; this could include rain gear/boots, hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
· Folding chairs
· Snacks (Something to hold you until Dinner. There will be bottled water and sodas on hand)
Following the event, we’ll adjourn for a meal. The cost of your meal will be your responsibility (it’s not included in the $5.00 contribution). If you were at the last Event, you'll know what to expect for dinner. We'll go to the same location barring any major objections. (Annabell's)
