Obama-era education leaders are urging parents to pull their children out of public schools until elected officials change gun laws. In the wake of the Houston-area school shooting, Peter Cunningham, a former U.S. Education Department staffer, tweeted Friday, “Maybe it’s time for America’s 50 million school parents to simply pull their kids out of school until we have better gun laws”:

Hey! Hey!
A point of agreement with Dept of Education elites!
I get it, they'd use such a walkout to implement moar antiRKBA policies, and I'm obviously agin it.
It's simply ironic to hear them admit what a disaster the schools they molded are currently, and how much the State doesn't need to be involved in education.

Looks like Cunningham and Duncan are missing their former lime light exposure under Obama. Their tweets are ridiculous and have no merit. But they get their 15 seconds of exposure.

While I wish that would be the case, it takes dedicated and committed parents to effectively home school a child, and a minimum level of knowledge / education / intelligence to boot. I fear many parents simply would not, or could not, home school their children well enough to equal, much less exceed, what is provided at public schools.

And, do we really want some of these cretin parents schooling their children?

It's funny, dedicated and committed parents seem to be the key ingredient in public school success also. All the teachers I've ever talked to hold decent parenting in high regard because it translates to educational success. in fact, successful school districts and systems seem to credit the input of non-payroll-ed adults as key to success. It's almost as though there are few other key ingredients (particularly in elementary education).
