SUCH DEVICES OR MECHANISMS SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO: THE CAPACITY TO ADJUST THE TRIGGER RESISTANCE TO AT LEAST A TEN POUND PULL, THE CAPACITY TO ALTER THE FIRING MECHANISM SO THAT AN AVERAGE FIVE YEAR OLD CHILD’S HANDS ARE TOO SMALL TO OPERATE THE PISTOL OR REVOLVER, OR THE CAPACITY TO REQUIRE A SERIES OF MULTIPLE MOTIONS IN ORDER TO FIRE THE PISTOL OR REVOLVER.

Remember back when a Imam was shot in NYC, at point blank range? Before they caught the guy, I read on one of the news sources that a detective was saying that it had to be a professional hit, simply because he shot better than most of the NYPD.

Most of the people I know are better shots than most of the NYPD! Not entirely their fault. I understand if they want practice beyond what they got in the academy and outside of their qualification shoots, they can get a whole 50rds of ammo but only if they go to the police range on their own time. Anything beyond that and it has to be outside of the police range, on their own time, and on their own dime. Further training? Only on their time and dime. As far as the 10lb trigger pull, is it even possible to make a 1911 trigger go up to 8lbs?

I doubt they care whether it's possible or not.

Probably, with an extra thick, super strong sear spring. Might need a sledge hammer to drive the mainspring assembly onto the frame behind it after installation though. You'd hear the ghostly groans of John Browning during the reassembly too.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

They'll be including "come-a-longs" as accessories with new pistol purchases...

Found some interesting stat's on the NYPD. Their hit percentage for every year has consistently been 34% for all intentional shootings of humans, which supposedly higher than other depts, like LAPD at 30% average. These however might not be effective hits, just any hit on the BG's body. There is a possible reason however NY being higher however, because:
In the New York reports, the hit ratio of officers who committed suicide with a firearm — and, therefore, hit their target 100 percent of the time — is included when the overall average is calculated, bringing it up.

Forty-six police officers committed suicide in the 11 years from 1996 through 2006, an average of four a year. The highest number came in 2003, when seven officers committed suicide.
and also
When they fire at dogs, roughly 55 percent of shots hit home. Most of their targets are pit bulls, with a smattering of Rottweilers and German shepherds.
