Double LODD Westerville Ohio

Post by dustymedic »

It just proves that routine things are the most dangerous. The officers were sent on a 9-1-1 hang up to a residence that had a history of domestic problems:

The police chief gave a news conference and is claiming some people are calling in threats and obscenities.

Morbizter went on to address the threats they have been receiving within the past 24 hours: “We have people calling our radio room, screaming threats, obscenities and vulgarities at our radio techs. And, quite frankly, there's a special place in hell for those people. And my wish is that it comes very soon," Morbizter said.

Here's a dumb thought. ALl calls, And I mean all....will require officers to have to their weapons drawn as soon as they get out of their squads and until the call is verified safe..I think it would save some life's....

I can see why PD are having a hard time attracting officers.

Cue the hue & cry from the citizenry at being held at gunpoint for a simple traffic infraction or other minor offense. Not to mention further entrenching the negative view of LEOs by many segments of society.

And likely cost others - let's face it, LEOs aren't exactly the best examples of firearm safety, and I've seen more videos than I'd like where LEOs are holding a suspect at gunpoint and it appeared to me that something startled an LEO and they reflexively fired on the suspect. Most of those cases get dismissed as "justified", whether rightfully or wrongfully.

Maybe not the time and place, but there were several known reports and statements to authorities that the low-life had a gun, yet nothing was done to locate, charge and remove.
Totally useless, waste of space, irrelevant, sig.

Officer Down Memorial Page lists 120 deaths, 46 by gunfire.

According to Washington Post, 995 killed by police in 2016, 2017 was tracking the same numbers.

I do - and I also know that at the ready is no faster than drawing from the holster, so if you want the officer to be able to react faster, at gunpoint is the only option that shaves time off of the OODA loop so...

Sorry I disagree....having the gun at any ready position is faster then drawing from a holster.....specially from a duty holster....
