Ethical Purchase Question

I agreed yesterday to buy a gun from a guy on Armslist. I agreed to his price which was $25 less than what was posted. I gave him my contact info as he said we could meet today after he got off work.
Well this morning I get a text from him stating that he had gotten a full price offer (again only $25 more) but since I was first he was giving me the opportunity to buy the gun for $25 more than we had agreed upon.
Question: Am I wrong to feel he was unethical and should have honored our agreed upon sale price. Btw I told him to take the offer out of principal not because I didn't want to pay $25 more for the gun.

A deal is a deal, is how I see it. I’d let it go too.

That said, I had the same thing happen here once, as well as a seller pull out of a deal during the Obama panic and another seller demand undisclosed “extra” paperwork at the time of sale.

I agree with Mr. Glock. Not cool. Once the deal was made, it was made. Someone comes along later, it's too late even if they're willing to pay more.

You will find that type of sellers and buyers who back out or just waste your time often. Not only online but in the real world.
I have had it happen here with a seller not so long ago but life goes on......

BTW These all happened a number of years ago.
