Playing With Nerf Guns Is Now Illegal???

Post by pirateguy191 »

A gun battle between six high school seniors got the attention of police plenty fast.

It all stared when neighbors reported someone pointing a gun at a car one night earlier in the week.

“They did scare a number of people in the area,” Capt. Ben Bliven of the Wausau Police Department told WAOW-TV in Wausau, Wisconsin.

There’s one tiny wrinkle in this incident, though — the students weren’t carrying real guns.

They were Nerf guns — and part of a game trending in popularity called “Nerf Wars.”

It happened around Zanesville a year or 2 ago, school lockdown, charged a couple kids with inciting panic. No idea what came of the charges. It might have been airsoft or a combo of both.
Totally useless, waste of space, irrelevant, sig.

To me, there's a big difference between airsoft and Nerf/Super Soaker guns.

Down here it's generally called Dart Wars and uses Nerf Guns.

Here's the website and rules for our local group of Dart Wars.... http://dartwars.moonfruit.com/#/rules/4533412411" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I will say it is annoying, some things they do are over the top and just annoy residents. And before someone says they are kids being kids, it's cool on your own property. But when it involves following kids following kids around on purpose, it annoys people. Last week we gave three traffic citations after numerous calls that they shut down an intersection and had a three way shootout going on. We've also had the naked kids jumping through other's backyards.

If they want to do this at a park during normal hours, game on. Have fun. At 6 am trespassing through apartment complexes snooping around cars to get a tactical advantage as one walks out the door....not a smart move.

^^Agreed. At time and a place for everything. Well almost everything. I don't know about naked kids jumping around in someone else's back yard. What's up with that?

The "thong" rule(s).
11A. Thong - You are safe if you are wearing only a thong, nothing else except the following: jewelry, socks, prescription glasses, and shoes. This rule is tradition and must be respected. YOU CAN USE YOUR HANDS TO COVER YOURSELF. Any additional items (clothing, guns) you need to carry must be dragged behind you by a string, stick, etc.
11B. YOU CANNOT SHOOT WHILE IN A THONG. If you are shot while you are holding a gun, you are out - the gun must be dragged behind you by a string, stick ect.
12A. You must be in a safe area before putting on a thong. This does not mean you have to be in a "Safe Zone" rather in an area where you are currently safe from the enemy team (locked car, house ect.) This also means that you CANNOT be running away or within distance of being shot and just throw off your clothes/items and claim to be invincible.
12B. To be able to shoot again after using the thong rule, you must first be completely out of sight from anyone on the opposing team.
13. Thongs are thongs. If someone is wearing a questionable thong, shoot them first and then call the judges. We will determine whether it’s good enough.

14. If you have a phone out trying to take pictures of a girl in a thong...
(a). Jacking off to a small screen is random and very awkward I'd imagine.
  (b). Creeper Status.
(c). You need to get a life.
  (d). AUTOMATIC DQ

~Please note that any rumors of pictures can result in underage pornography and with recent sexting laws in effect it is police ordered that this is not allowed and if you have any value as a human being you would understand it aside from the law.
And yes, we get calls yearly of both boys and girls using this rule during the dark hours. It's a tactical advantage I guess.

^ Agreed.

There's a time and a place.

There's also considerations for who you are, too - and a lot of that ties into the other two.
