may be a dumb question

When carrying in another state that recognizes ohios permits. Do you have to carry in accordance with their laws or ohios laws. And say you draw on someone in another state. Do you go to court in ohio or the other state?

You might be surprised how often this question gets asked. The answer, however, remains the same:

you are always subject to the laws of whatever state you are in.

You will go to jail right there, wherever you are when you draw your gun. If you are very lucky, you may be released on bond until your trial, which will be right there in the state where you drew your gun.

When in Rome......

When you carry in another state, you are under the authority of the laws of that state. IF you must use your gun to defend yourself, you will answer to their law enforcement in their courts.

Don't be surprised if you're kept in their jail or otherwise prevented from leaving the state until you go through the court system and are convicted or exonerated.

To find which tates you have the ability to carry in and what their laws are check out Packing.org

which state

Of course, if you don't draw and are killed, you'll probably be processed in one of the morgues in that state, but use a funeral home in this state. Wouldn't that be darn inconvenient?

...there are no dumb questions. Only dumb mistakes because the question wasn't asked.

(OK, maybe there are some - for example, if you ask, I'll tell you yes the yellow snow is just fine for homemade snowcones... And no, I don't know where the white goes when the snow melts.))

Not necessarily dumb questions, but questions that are asked prior to researching is annoying...

However, for noobs, levity is granted.
