While I think her $1million will help a few people, I think her take on the looting is really messed up.

This makes me think about something I experienced in the late 70's. My dad was a mechanical engineer in NE Ohio that designed blast furnaces for steel mills. Most everyone connected to the steel industry was laid off - at that time that comprised most of the jobs in NE Ohio. So, my family had a first-hand understanding what was happening then.

A friend of ours owned a grocery store, and he was concerned about a shop lifter he had arrested. The problem, as he explained it, was while he could understand a parent stealing food to a family - this person was stealing beer and cigarettes.

He would work with the shoplifters who stole to feed their families (he'd tell them to pay him back when they had the money) but he would have the person stealing beer and cigarettes arrested. While I have no use for your everyday thieves, I think his reasoning was rather commendable.

Back to Celine - I think she really needs to understand... People truly trying to survive do not steal running shoes and television sets - my first thoughts here were, "there go some thieving opportunists - where's this wonderful law enforcement when you need it?". If I would have seen them on TV stealing pounds of chicken, hamburger, flour and milk - my first thoughts probably would be, "there go some deprived people - may they get the help they need".

You give her far more credit that I do.

Personally, I think she's just another whiney arsed, hand wringing lib.

Then again, perhaps you watched the whole thing. I didn't make it past the first three minutes before becoming nauseous.

I admire your stamina.

Roger that I turned it off after 1:45...right when LK asked her how she talked to her son about it....

what would she say if those people that never touched something nice...broke into her house and touched her at night...how would she feel about it then....

give me a break...let the liberal left make excuses about deprived people who don't have anything who can't take care of themselves

what happened to being a man and standing up for your family and yourself and doing something constructive to get out of the situation instead of sitting around and waiting for soemone to help you

wait why don't we all just sit around and chant....
instead of trying to help our selves out of a situation....like they did outside the superdome...that helped didn't it

AAAAAAAAhh it makes me sick

I made it through to the end, and became more nauseated as I went. My person feeling are she's either so darned liberal that she can't think logically, or she's so far out of touch with reality anyway that it wouldn't make a difference.

If she's so darned liberal, maybe she might want to do some "good" and live the unpampered life, and go volunteer down there - without a press escort of course. Then again, if she's so out of touch, maybe the same would apply. After all, she might "find herself".

Then again, that's my favorite fix for those few I've heard belittle my fellow troops by calling them names and insulting their intelligence - "Hey! How about some first hand experience to help make yourself an expert on the subject... The experience lasts a minimum of 2 1/2 years for 11B... I'll even introduce you to our HR department!"
