I am in NE Ohio also. I am interested in this. As of right now I only shoot with my husband. I don't know anyone interested in shooting. We don't have any shooting buddies yet, so it is just us. I think it would be fun to meet other females that like to shoot.

I was just talking to my husband about this. I read and hear about this surge in women and guns. And I know from the forums that ladies like to shoot, but when I go to the range all I see is guys and the only females (well most of the time, and no offense to anyone) are usually the ones that you can tell the guy dragged them and they don't seem too interested in shooting and leave pretty fast.

Theres a range in Canal Fulton that has a "Ladies Night" but I haven't gone yet, conflicts with my work schedule.

We (The Salem Hunting Club) have a Ladies .22 Rifle League May thru Sept.
Great bunch of ladies (my wife included) have a great time.

FWIW, ladies are invited to participate in ALL of our shooting events (which are open to the public).
Info on the Ladies shoot here..

Start one. If you are interested, there has to be other women who are interested. Talking with a range to see if you can carve out a regular time slot would be a way to get the ball rolling.

BobK is correct (as usual).
That's how I started an event at my club.

I wanted to shoot IDPA but my schedule rarely allowed for me to make the shoots.
Contacted club officers and ran my ideas by them.
They said try it and see how it goes.

We're on our 3rd year and running strong.

ORCO Sportsmens in Geneva, OH has a strong female presence at all the regularly scheduled shooting events. PPC, CMP Rimfire, etc.. they also have a "Ladies of ORCO night" every couple of months where the women get together and shoot informally for a couple hours, then go out to socialize at a local restaurant. My wife has really enjoyed those events.

Certainly enough active female shooters here to start an all womens league, just need someone to spearhead it..

There are clubs and leagues out there, but I don't know of any that discriminate against the guys.

I would think a "mixed bag" club or league with both guys and gals would be fun. Hubby and I have been on the look out for one ourselves.

At our Women's .22 League, after the Ladies event, we shoot what we call "Mixed Doubles".
It's almost the same course of fire.

We randomly pair the gals/guys through drawing numbers.
Each partner gets 5 shots at their team's target.

Couple with the highest score splits the "pot".
<*Maybe I should change that to "prize" after a recently closed thread.>
:P

Anyway, it's a lot of fun.

I usually shoot at Atwells in Painesville. I'm interested in improving my skills.
