I'm lucky, this gun was just received by the sports den, and isn't part of the recall.
The more you shoot it the better you will like it. Small guns tend to be a bit of a challenge to shoot. The gun is very accurate. Getting used to that long double action pull of trigger is key.

Did yours come with the finger extension on the magazine(s)?

If not, one will greatly improve your grip and shooting.

They are just so easy to carry in a variety of ways. I front of the pants pocket carry mine in a Uncle Mikes sidekick #1. If I'm in a real bad area I have it in the same holster in my jacket pocket with my hand on it. It's not a cannon but heck it might just keep the bad guys head down until I can get to my bigger gun carried in IWB holster. I'm still a Jframe fan but its fading from my carry regimen.
Yes, mine came with a finger extension. On christmas eve when I got the gun, me and my brother were experimenting with places it would fit - and found that it fits just about anywhere! That includes front/back pant pockets, jacket pockets, my new coach wristlet (small purse), and just about everywhere else. It really is amazing. And I believe you are right, it may not be a cannon but it would be effective at the very least at buying some time. I actually like the extra long trigger pull, but I look forward to having more opportunities to practice with it and become more familiar with it.

Hi! I'm new to the site, but I stumbled across this thread. I have been looking at the Ruger LCP. Now that you've had it a little while, do you still like it as well?

I've liked the gun when I've shot it, but I don't own one.

Ahem...just a reminder that this is the Woman's Issues Forum.
I suspect Flower Child was seeking the woman's perspective.

As far as I kow it is illegal to purchase a firearm for someone else
and is a question on the NICS paperwork

That does not mean that you cant buy the gun and then "Sell" it
My favorite pistol for ccw, Ruger LC9S

The father bought the gun for his daughter as a Christmas present. The father is the actual purchaser of the firearm and thus is not lying on the Form 4473. The purchase of a firearm as a bona fide gift for someone who can legally own such a firearm is permitted.

See ATF P 5300.4 - Federal Firearms Regulations Reference Guide 2005. It discusses "straw purchase" on p. 165.
