Hi! I'm new!

Post by BredaFallacy »

Hello everyone. I got my CCW at the beginning of May! I'm new to this forum and am looking forward to getting a little help regarding concealment. I need a new holster and some wardrobe suggestions.(especially for summer)

I carry a Bersa Thunder .380 and sometimes a S&W model 642, an airweight .38 special.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

The Devil is in the details, of course...
  • Male? Female?
  • Body type?
  • Work-related carry? If so, what kind of wardrobe limitations?
  • Outdoors? Indoors?
  • On-body? Off-body?
  • Level of physical activity?
  • How much driving do you do?
  • Any legal considerations? (i.e., do you have to disarm frequently for work?)

Hello, welcome. You'll probably get the bulk of your helpful advice about carry/wardrobe from the other ladies on the forum, instead of us gents. But let me just say that as I've passed by the women's departments in clothing stores for many years now, have observed a great many more jacket/sweater/overshirt choices than what is offered to the guys. Seems to me that covering up a waist-carried pistol in style would be easier for women than men. Especially if your clothing includes a belt. And I will go as far as to say that whenever possible, it's better to carry the gun on rather than off-body, in my opinion.

Alright I got the ball rolling, let me step aside and let those with more specific advice have the floor. Besides, communicating with a librarian has me distracted, worrying about proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. :)
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

The Devil is obviously in the details that I so blatantly overlook!

Well, it appears that your blog and the others at The People of the Gun will keep me from getting any sleep for at least a week.

Great blog, look like a great bunch of people.

You and your husband are planning on attending the Party In The Park this year, aren't you?
Please say yes, and bring all your friends!

OBTW -- Welcome to the forums!!!

Breda

2008 will see the fifth OFCC Party In The Park.

Exact date is yet to be set but it's a good bet that it will be on a Saturday some time between the last week in July thru September.
Last years PITP was on 29 Sept. to fit our main speaker's, Governor Strickland, schedule.
The party is held at the picnic shelters at Liberty Park in Powell, OH.

The standard, and some feel worn out, joke is the safest picnic/party in Ohio.
The PITP is become nationally known mainly due to Cam Edwards on NRANEWS.COM.
There is a catered lunch served although no one will say anything if a family/person were to opt to bring their own.

Here's a map zoom out to see the area, which is north of the Kolumbus beltway and west of I-71.

The third one has links to photos taken in 2007. The guy in pink is Strickland if you don't recognize him.
