I had a free period my senior year. (They did some weird, "out of the box" stuff at my high school in the late 1970s.) Spent some of the time in shop class. With approval of the teacher I brought in a couple of my dad's shot guns to clean and repair.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

Sophomore year of high school, 1980, shop class. We were learning how to cut wood on a band saw so I carved out a small dagger. It couldn't stab through melted butter, but it sure caused a commotion.
Thy rod and thy staff and thy .357, they comfort me.
