Carey Police A+
Got caught in a speed trap on the south side of Carey. I performed the textbook ("Speeders Handbook") routine of pulling well of the road, turning off the ignition, removing my sunglasses, rolling down the window and placing my hands at the top of the wheel before the officer approached. I immediately and respectfully informed and he thanked me. He returned with a written warning and said he appreciated my keeping my hands in sight and concern for his safety. He also noted my clean record but said he he catches me again it will be a ticket. Seems fair enough to me and seems to confirm my theory that a CCL provides an opportunity to show extra consideration to the officer and maybe, sometimes, avoid a ticket. Or maybe not.

Every such contact is an opportunity for negotiation and for compromise.

Sometimes it works to your advantage. Sometimes it doesn't. If you don't try, it probably won't.remphoto wrote:Seems fair enough to me and seems to confirm my theory that a CCL provides an opportunity to show extra consideration to the officer and maybe, sometimes, avoid a ticket. Or maybe not.

Good to hear.
