A few months ago at a gun show I almost bought some military-issue triangle shaped "MINES!" signs. Perhaps placing them (along with large "ABSOLUTELY NO TRESPASSING" signs) in your yard and digging up a cool-whip bowl sized chunk of dirt every few feet would get the message across. After shooting the shotgun into the air, maybe they might think you are crazy enough to do something like this.

Less cool, but more practical and likely more effective option: get a fence.
