My wife still bugs me about carry....We got into the car the other night and I put my gun in the glove box....She said why are you bringing your gun, were just going to church ? I turned to her and said, I hope I never have to answer that question for you..
....46 years and it still is a work in progress...

If I could foretell the future such that I could reliably predict when I was going to NEED a gun, I wouldn't buy a gun. I'd buy a lottery ticket and a bunch of stock.

In a couple of weeks, I'd have so much money that I wouldn't need a gun. I'd live on a private island with my own navy to patrol it.

However I CAN'T predict the future and don't know anyone else who can either. That being the case, I have to accept that ANY place can get VERY dangerous in an instant. It only takes ONE person who wants to make it that way. How many DECADES did the personnel processing facilities at Ft. Hood exist without ANYONE getting shot there?

I had the same sort of conversation about carrying here, with relatives in Apartheid Chicago a few years ago. They seemed genuinely astonished to hear that the police don't HAVE to protect them as individuals.

I blame the public schools...

I got a subpoena delivered to my door today by the Lucas Co. Sheriff Dept to appear Jan 3 at 9am to testify. I will let you know what happens.

I had to go to the Lucas Co prosecutors office this morning for an interview. 30's something young man didn't seem to excited about his job.
First question was "Do you have a criminal record'?
Asked what happened and told me the young man had several brushes with the law as he looked through four pages of his past history.
Told me he has not had his meeting with the folks to determine his sanity, but told me it probably wouldn't fly.
Asked what I would like to see happen to him and I told him to lock him up and quit letting him run loose to commit more crime. I also told him he is lucky he didn't get shot.
He will be meeting with the defense attny on 3 Jan before the Judge to go over the report for the insanity plea. Court date to be determined.
They already delivered 2 subpoena's to me to be in court on Jan 3 but he said to disregard them.

Who told you to disregard a subpoena? :shock:

If it was not who ever issued it I think my but would be in that court room as instructed until told otherwise by the judge.

Who issues subpoenas any way is it the prosecutor/defense atty or judge?

My subpoena was issued by the assistant prosecutor and he is the one that told me to disregard. So that is what I will do.

The subpoena was issued in writing, make sure the "ignore it" is also in writing! :wink:

Yup, have had this happen to me before. Sometimes the person charged will plead out/make a deal or whatever.
