It was reported that they found one last piece of evidence a couple of weeks ago. Turns out it was one of the home-made silencers (suppressors).

I also thought I heard mention on the news that they found a device to capture the ejected brass when the gun was fired. There was certainly a good bit of planning involved before the actual event.
