That didn't take long...

Post by bignflnut »

85-year-old Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has reportedly been hospitalized after fracturing three ribs in fall at court.

SNIP

As a reminder, Ginsburg broke two ribs in a fall in 2012, has had two prior bouts with cancer, and had a stent implanted to open a blocked artery in 2014.

We would imagine the 'Left' is about to start panicking since the GOP's gains in the Senate during the Midterms will ease any SCOTUS nominees going forward (heaven forbid).

Ooooooh I can NOT wait to see liberal heads start exploding.

Hope she recovers but will be glad to see her gone from the bench.

I've read that RBG fell Wed at her SCOTUS office.
One does wonder if it was an election result celebratory dance attempt that caused the balance to waiver....might never be reported...

It wouldn't be the first time...

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is “up and working” and making jokes after being hospitalized with rib fractures, her nephew said on Thursday at the premiere of a new movie about her early career fighting for women’s equality.

The real-life Ginsburg made a brief, surprise appearance in the film, drawing applause from the crowd.

I don't think it was a celebratory dance. If the Republicans lost the Senate, that means that she could probably retire while Trump is in office as the Demonrats would never let a Republican nominee get on the SCOTUS.

My guess, is that she probably fainted when she realized that when the Republicans won the Senate, she knew that she'd have to take her power naps on the bench for the next two years. She probable broke her ribs when she fell from passing out.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who is still recovering from a fall last week, missed a sitting of the court on Tuesday morning.

The Supreme Court’s Public Information Office said Ginsburg, 85, was working from home Tuesday.

SNIP

The court did not have any arguments scheduled for Tuesday. The justices were on the bench to release orders. The court is not scheduled to hear arguments again until after Thanksgiving.
Does she have to be physically present/upright? Can she be on oxygen?

At what point is her vote nullified?

When she starts making statements indicating that she is affected mentally in some way I suppose, making legal statements or votes contrary to her usual pattern. Like for example believing the Constitution actually means what it says and not what some liberal group would like it to say.

BREAKING: Supreme Court: Justice Ginsburg has cancerous growths removed from lung.

— The Associated Press (@AP) December 21, 2018

The Supreme Court says Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had surgery to remove two malignant growths from her left lung. The court says doctors found “no evidence of disease elsewhere in the body.” The court says no additional treatment is planned currently.

"This is Justice Ginsburg's third bout with cancer. In 1999, she was treated for colorectal cancer; in 2009, it was pancreatic cancer and, now, lung cancer. During her 25 years on the court, though, she has never missed a day of oral argument." https://t.co/NqlDTLLFJP" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

She cast her vote against hearing the asylum case from the hospital. If a conservative Justice did that, there would be calls for impeachment.

Keep an eye on this:
The Supreme Court announced on Monday that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will miss arguments for the first time in more than 25 years while she recovers from cancer surgery in December.
