Gas station robbers upping their game in Dayton

Post by M-Quigley »

This is assuming that it's a real AK and not something else like an airsoft with the orange tip painted over or removed.

Suspect carrying AK-47 demands cash, robs Dayton Sunoco

An armed suspect entered Sunoco, 3900 Salem Avenue, early Sunday morning and demanded cash with an AK-47.

The suspect took an unknown amount of cash from the registers, but no one was injured during the incident, according to a release from Sgt. McLaughlin.

The suspect fled north on foot in front of the store, then traveled west behind Sunoco, dropping his jacket and the empty cash drawer. He then mounted a bike and fled west on Free Pike into Trotwood to Englewood Avenue, where an employee lost sight of him.

Road in Centerville now open after reported police activity

Witnesses told police the suspect was 6 foot and had a thin build. He was wearing a blue flat billed hat, black Carhartt jacket, dark blue jeans and black shoes, the release read.

Deputies and surrounding jurisdictions, along with a K9, searched the area, but couldn’t locate the suspect.

Someone stated it was an AK-47. We both know how those reports play out.

Yeah, it was probably a fully-automatic Glock bolt-action assault rifle.

Hopefully the Sgt. looked at some video and not just took the word of a witness.
