Although over several years I observed people get hurt jumping out of aircraft by forgetting things they had been trained to do.

The Hamilton County Coroner gave some details on the incident, yesterday. The lethal round to the shooter was from "a shotgun blast to the head", to use her words. Haven't seen THAT on the police body cameras yet.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

I believe it was the one AR round that was the head shot. She got rifle and shotgun mixed up is my bet.

Could be. A friend goes by the square every weekday morning. He said that 5/3 now has armed security. 'Quick, close the barn door, the horse got out!'

Wonder if that's temporary, for optics, or their new normal? Let's see if they take the "No guns" signs down at all the branches.

Could that have just been a slip of the tongue?
ie "shotgun blast" instead of "gun shot blast"?

The only free standing 5/3 bank I've seen without a gunbuster sign is the branch on 5 mile in Anderson. Also, all the ones in the Kroger stores.

On WLW after the news conference, she again referred to it as a shotgun, calling it a "pellet" to the head. (buckshot perhaps?) Perhaps she's mixing up shotgun buckshot with an AR round? If so, that doesn't sound good for the accuracy of her reporting as a coroner in legal cases (in general I mean) Mistakes like that (if it is one) could get someone falsely convicted or acquitted.
She mentioned she also consulted with a supposed LEO firearms expert regarding the type of rounds used.

With all the AR's being carried does any units even use shotguns anymore in Cincinnati?

Also on WLW it was mentioned that Joe Deters allegedly said that the murderer first went to the federal building, took a look at the armed security and left. He could've started his shooting spree there but didn't. He also didn't start in fountain square. Fifth third bank had nothing to do with his lawsuit, so why did he choose fifth third? The answer is kind of obvious except to proponents of criminal protection zones (no guns signs but also no metal detectors or armed security)

That's not what was shown getting off one round in the body camera footage, it was a rifle, specifically in 5.56/.223 or similar.

Yes, every car is equipped with a shotgun rack, but not all cars are equipped with a rifle rack (yet)

I haven't run into my CPD pal this week, Steve. When I learn more stuff I'll share it here.

Okay, so today I meet one of the police who was there, and firing, that morning.

--The magazine got bumped out of the AR while the cop carrying it sprinted to the scene.

--The shotgun held buckshot of some kind. It probably delivered the fatal blow, like the coroner opined.

--About 11 rounds total were fired by the police. More than a couple hit on target.

Shotguns are still quite effective in close quarters fights...
