Mentor police officers arrived to investigate the break-in on Center Street near Carpenter Drive as a man ran from the gun shop toward a nearby alley.

Moments later, a car emerged from behind the gun shop and drove directly at the officers. The driver refused to stop, so the officers fired a total of four shots at the car, police said.

Investigators did not say if any of the gunshots hit any of the three males taken into custody.

The driver then stopped the car, jumped out and ran away. A passenger moved into the driver's seat and drove away northbound on Center Street, police said.

The original driver later returned to the scene and turned himself in. He was identified as a 15-year-old boy from Cleveland, police said.

Mentor police officers chased the car onto Ohio 2 east. The car soon went off the right side of the road, down an embankment and through a fence before it stopped in a parking lot on Tyler Boulevard, police said.

One of the car's occupants then stole another car from the parking lot outside a nearby medical facility, police said.
Was a dialysis facility threw the lady out of her car, then threw her attached oxygen tank after her.

Here's a link describing the carjacking.

Crystal Pierce-Thomas 43, of Painesville, was sitting in her SUV in the parking lot of Fresenius Kidney Care of Mentor a little after 5 a.m. waiting to start her dialysis when she saw a man dressed in black approach her vehicle. She tried to get her Mace out of her purse, but she was too late; the man opened her door.

He wedged himself in front of the car door and grabbed her arm.

“He said, ‘Don’t look at me, don’t talk, just get the (expletive) out of the car’ and he took me by the elbow and threw me out of the car,” Pierce-Thomas said.

She said she was still attached to her oxygen tank, which he tossed after her and damaged, before he sped away heading west toward Cleveland in her vehicle. After being helped by dialysis center employees, she called 911.
She probably would've been better off locking her car doors or even starting to drive, rather than try to reach for something in her purse first.

I'll presume she had just gotten there, since it was 5am. In full agreement with M-Q's comment above about keeping the car doors locked! But, I wasn't there and don't know whether she was just getting ready to exit the car when this happened.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

There was a photo of the carjacking victim in one of the articles (can't find it now). She didn't look physically like she could move very fast under pretty much any circumstances.
