Student cadet officers overheard Westbrook’s conversation, and then reported her to campus police at approximately 12:00 p.m.

Genuine pain and suffering needs to be inflicted on the perpetrators.

State funded University......sounds like Ohio “state funded” universities are becoming more like Berkeley, Rutgers, Harvard, et al. As Ohio taxpayers, whose taxes support our universities, we better take a strong position against this type of infringement, question is what action can we take. There needs to be a strong outcry in support of this lady.

She is within her rights to 1) file a police report over a false report, but the Sheriff might be the proper authority (county jurisdiction would include the campus and the campus police would likely be biased) and 2) file a civil suit regarding the matter. First, the report was proven to be unfounded as to possession of a gun. Second, it is likely the friend would be able to back up her story as to the conversation.
