London's Mayor Declares Intense New 'Knife Control' Policies To Stop Epidemic Of Stabbings - The police will now stop and frisk people believed to be carrying knives.

https://www.dailywire.com/news/29179/lo ... ly-zanotti

Until the root cause - violence - is ID'd as the real problem, banning the tool will not resolve anything.

You can't truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

After reading the story about the mayor, I really thought it was an April Fool's joke. Never a reason to carry a knife? Seriously? But then I found the story was from April 8th. So then I went on Twitter and found his Tweet from April 8th: "No excuses: there is never a reason to carry a knife. Anyone who does will be caught, and they will feel the full force of the law." First your guns. Then your knives.

I said I had been waiting for it - this started in 2005: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4581871.stm. "The researchers said there was no reason for long pointed knives to be publicly available at all."

These researchers totally ignore the actual root cause: violence - and blame the tool.

Don't forget about the knife surrender bins around London. They've been in place for a while. But the crime levels started spiking when they allowed all the foreigners into their country, who have no interest in assimilating to their culture.

This is the extraordinary haul of knives recovered from a weapons surrender bin in Westminster.

Police were astonished to discover the haul when they emptied the bin during a recent week long campaign against knife crime.

Scotland Yard said a total of 518 knives, 11 firearms and 50 offensive weapons were recovered during the recent Operation Sceptre week drive against knife carrying criminals.
Around 30 knife surrender bins are located around London.
but honestly the police don't have a lot of time to go after violent criminals when they spend so much time arresting people for facebook and twitter posts of 'hate speech'..

A staggering rise in online hate crime, as people are attacked over Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites, has led to a gigantic leap in arrests in Britain.

British police are arresting nine people per day for attacks on the internet as they attempt to clamp down on hate speech online.
Using Freedom of Information requests, the Times found that 3,395 people across 29 forces were arrested last year under section 127 of the Communications Act 2003.

The act allows officers to investigate messages and posts which are “grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character.”

In 2014 there were 2,315 arrests, compared with 2,755 in 2015.

A Tweet by NRA-ILA led me to the Twitter page of the Barnsbury Police. Cannot believe what I'm seeing. 9/21/17 Tweet is telling how I should be afraid of a garden fork and a tiny pair of scissors. A 1/28/18 Tweet proudly shows what the police found when serving a search warrant: a paring knife and a big kitchen knife. I'd be front page news with what is on my kitchen counter and in my kitchen drawers. Just unreal. Was telling my wife about it and was having trouble convincing her that it was not a joke.

Quite a few Opinel knives like I used to carry in my pocket.
They are the folders with the round beach wood handles and ribbed metal ferrule.
Image
The ferrule rotates to lock the blade open or closed.
Once the knife is broken in it's quite easy to thumb the ferrule, flip the blade out, and lock it open all with one hand.
The reverse is also true.
With only one really strong hand now "regular" lock back knives are somewhat problematic for me.

Babylon Bee:
LONDON—In response to a recent outbreak in fistfights, London mayor Sadiq Khan announced Monday a sweeping ban of hands in the city, effective immediately.

“No excuses: there is never a reason to have hands in a modern, civil society. Anyone who does will be caught, and they will feel the full force of the law,” Khan said at a press conference announcing the new policy during which he revealed that he has had his own hands surgically removed as a good-faith move to jump-start the new regulations.

LONDON—A “potentially dangerous situation” was defused by London police Monday morning, as a toddler cutting Play-Doh with a toy plastic pocketknife was tackled to the ground and apprehended by a Specialist Firearms Command unit, sources confirmed at the scene.

The toddler was happily cutting a lump of green-ish Play-Doh with his official Play-Doh pocketknife in his mum’s London flat when a Metro Police unit kicked his door down and charged in, bellowing for everyone to get down on the ground. Several other operatives dove through windows and rappelled from skylights, tossing tear gas and breaching doors throughout the home until the 3-year-old was neutralized.

Later reports revealed the toddler’s mother had called in the threat, as she saw her little boy playing with the knife and began fearing for her life. “We tried to raise him right, but at some point he just lost his way,” she said, holding back tears while covered in a police blanket. “You never know when they’re going to go astray.”

That doesn't stop my 14yo son from quoting them in papers and during debates, but that's usually to make a point (like what you're probably doing).

This is a TX knife law story that caught my eye. Mom is upset because TX relaxed their knife laws.
"Bottom line: It should have never happened that day. It should not have happened. [White] should have not been allowed to have an illegal knife on him and use it to murder somebody," Brown said.
"Should not have been allowed." It was against the law to carry the knife. It was against the law to murder somebody. Would have been nice for the reporter to ask about how the knife murder was "allowed."

Don't forget the story behind the story. This is the real reason they want to ban knives.

Notice how we can't see Charles' right hand. "That's not a knife" and then his right hand comes up with a much bigger knife. "Now that's a knife" in his best Crocodile Dundee accent.

Did I ever mention you remind me of John Wayne Bobbit...
God,
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can
and the Wisdom to know the difference.

Carrying a gun is a right, not a crime.

Gun control is racist.
