Conflicting stories, Shooter was female, other witness says male. (California, could be any of many genders) Shooter apparently shot his/her self and is assuming room temp. Victims transported to several hospitals.

So much for gun videos of any sort on YouTube. Probably time to move to Full30 exclusively.

PS Not that any active shooting is anything but bad for those involved, I’m taking the 20,000 foot view here.

Story now is girl-friend shoots at boy-friend before she shoots herself. So, is YouTube HQ a gun-free zone?

Note to Mr. Glock: Your use of the high road is noted.

Initially it was theorized that it was a possible domestic situation and that the victims were targeted, but that theory has now been replaced with one that she was mad that her youtube videos were being restricted, and she wasn't getting the number of views that she thought she shouldn't gotten. Her channel has been taken down but some of her videos remain, and they appear to be mostly exercise videos from what I saw with a cursory search.

2. She described herself on YouTube as a "vegan bodybuilder" and "animal rights activist promoting healthy and humane living." NBC News reported that many of her videos "focused on animal rights and veganism, mixed in with bizarre musical parodies." On her website, Aghdam claimed that she created "the very first Persian vegan TV commercial and vegan music video" in 2010.
Aghdam slammed YouTube on her website, saying one of her workout videos "got age restricted after new close-minded youtube [sic] employees, got control of my farsi youtube channel last year 2016 & began filtering my videos to reduce views & suppress & diacaurage [sic] me from making videos!"

4. Her father said he reported Aghdam missing before the shooting and warned police that she was angry with YouTube. According to the Mercury News, police in Mountain View found her sleeping in her car and called him early Tuesday. He said officers told him that the situation was "under control."
5. San Bruno police said there's "no evidence" that Aghdam knew the victims "or that individuals were specifically targeted." According to The Associated Press, the injured include a man, 36, in critical condition; a woman, 32, in serious condition; and another woman, 27, in fair condition.

Investigators are still trying to determine a motive.

So once again this could maybe have been stopped.

I'm thinking this story will die quickly.
Not male, probably not a NRA member and this happened in the anti-gun poster child state of California.

To bolster WW06:
Just a little over a week ago, Aghdam posted a video on Instagram asking her audience if she looked good in a hijab while posing with the Islamic finger salute adopted by ISIS. It’s unclear whether she was doing the gesture in support of the Islamic State or rather poking fun at them.
Um, yeah. She doesn't fit the narrative / caricature of the demonized American gun owner. Somehow the NRA is to blame for this???
The reason this might stick is YouTube and how isolated the Cali folk think they are from the rest of the crazy.
Companies invest in security but purposefully keep physical security measures discreet because the vibe is casual and relaxed,” said Joe Sullivan, the former chief security officer at Uber Technologies Inc. and Facebook Inc. who’s now an independent consultant. “Leaders want to stay connected with their teams, generally choosing less visible security than you would see in traditional finance or media companies.”

SNIP

The episode could prompt executives to tighten security, Harp said. “Companies are going to be asking themselves, ‘Maybe our guard services need to be where they pull into the parking lot.’”

The modern tech office park is modeled after a college campus. At Google and Facebook, employees walk or ride bikes between meetings. Executives take pride in showing off their architecture to the public. Facebook has a Frank Gehry-designed building with a garden roof where employees can walk along a half-mile track, and YouTube has a red slide connecting its second and third floors that can accommodate three people at a time. Alphabet Inc., YouTube’s parent company, is working on a giant terrarium-like campus spanning more than 60 acres.
Cultural appropriation.

So far I haven't found any politicians, celebrities, so called news organizations, etc, blaming the gun or the NRA. (yet) Like has already been said, she doesn't fit the narrative the anti gunners typically want to demonize. Even her alleged number of shots was politically correct. (ten) I'm guessing that facts however won't matter to them if they do blame the gun or the NRA, regardless of her motives or if the police could've stopped her and didn't. They'll say something like if she couldn't have gotten the gun at all it wouldn't have happened, and how this is a perfect example that people should be required to undergo a mental health exam before purchasing a gun.

In case anyone thinks that is mere sarcasm, mental health screening is already required in some places in the US for may issue CCW permits. Here are just a few examples talking about requiring it for gun purchases.

http://universe.byu.edu/2012/09/26/pass ... ing-a-gun/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Of course it's not been released yet how she got the gun anyway. She certainly didn't go into a California gun shop the day before the shooting, because they have a waiting period. But again, that falls into the category of facts, not emotion, so it doesn't matter to certain people anyway.
