“It’s not that we don’t have enough scoundrels to curse; it’s that we don’t have enough good men to curse them.”–G.K. Chesterton-Illustrated London News, 3-14-1908

"Avarice, ambition, revenge and licentiousness would break the strongest cords of our Constitution, as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." John Adams to Mass Militia 10-11-1798

_1 Carrying a knife doesn’t just have an impact on you; it can affect your family and friends too.
_2 No parent or grandparent would ever want to see their child get injured, go to prison or be killed.

Admittedly, if a government owned all the guns, they won't be so deterred by sharp objects. It does seem to refute the tyrannical oppression narrative a bit (read some UK stories, and you'll see how much government upholds Rights, which is to say, not at all). However, there are newly imported, highly motivated folks who have demonstrated the will to not behave as subjects. Wonder what the bobbie mindset is, (that's right, isn't it? double b not double o?) and how one makes dinner.
