Counting the title, the article mentions it was his first day as a paid police officer. Should that really really make a difference?

I'm not trying to respond to myself, but correcting my previous post. I just realized my error, and it's too late to edit it. What I wanted to say was,

Perhaps I'm biased because I was never a full timer, but counting the title, the article mentions four times that it was his first day as a paid police officer. Should that have really make a difference to the story writer?

Understood, I, on the other hand, am retired, mobility "challenged", and have nothing better to do than defend the 2nd Amendment to foreigners on Quora.com for a couple hours each day.

BTW, where I am, in central Virginia, has finally gotten a dusting of snow.
