Illinois
Just read this on FOX NEWS today. The anti's will go wild on this. But of course this is Illinois with their strong guns laws. So really, how could this have happen?
NEWS ARTICLE
A Democratic candidate running for Illinois attorney general was robbed at gunpoint Thursday during a campaign photoshoot in Chicago.
The Chicago Tribune reported that Aaron Goldstein, 42, and members of his campaign team were approached by three men in their early 20s. One of the men had a handgun and demanded Goldstein and the campaign aides turn over the camera equipment and other personal belongings, including their cell phones, which they did.

Re: Illinois
If he wins I'm sure the job comes with taxpayer funded bodyguards. State police and/or Chicago police. He won't need to carry a gun himself.
Anytime somebody posts a link to the Chicago Tribune, I get caught up for a while reading the homicide and corruption stories. Saw the headline for two CPD officers facing murder charges in the death of a teenager; took all my willpower to skip it.

Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

Re: Illinois
How do we know that this wasn't staged? The article said that the police have not released a detailed description of the suspects. That statement alone tells me that there is NEVER going to be a detailed description released. The candidate and the police probably don't want the "robbers" (if you could call them that) caught.
It would be just like an anti-gun democratic candidate for the office of State Attorney General to pay some "actors" to pretend to rob him so he could get the sympathy vote and also show there was another reason to "keep guns out of the hands of criminals."

Perhaps. But CPD only have a solve/understanding rate of 12% for homicides.High Power wrote:How do we know that this wasn't staged? Re: Illinois
Anybody remember the name of the Cleveland east side anti-gun politician that was mugged within blocks of his house?
He and his wife were at a PITP.
Did he remain pro-gun?
He seemed to have changed his tune due to his experience.
He was the poster child for "The only difference between an anti-gunner and a pro-gunner is one mugging."

Was he the one who proudly showed his CHL, but said he didn't have a gun yet? Somebody in the audience shouted, "I'll loan you one of mine!"AlanM wrote:Anybody remember the name of the Cleveland east side anti-gun politician that was mugged within blocks of his house?

He went back to voting anti-gun/Democrat by his next term. Kind of made it a slap in the face of OFCC, since his wife won the trip to Gunsite or TDI or wherever it was in the raffle at that Picnic.AlanM wrote:Anybody remember the name of the Cleveland east side anti-gun politician that was mugged within blocks of his house?

Since he wasn't a rep down here in the SW, I lost track of him.

Re: Illinois
I saw an article with the headline: 39,000 homicides: Tracing 60 years of Murder in Chicago. If true that is an average of 650 murders a year. Interesting.
God,
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can
and the Wisdom to know the difference.
Carrying a gun is a right, not a crime.
Gun control is racist.
