Whether she is found guilty or not, whether she was defending herself or not, It's a illustrative news story. There are some things that from a defensive standpoint of gun use that are mistakes, like fire warning shots for example, or not get a lawyer and inform police as soon as safely possible. (even if you think you didn't hit anyone)

I think I might believe the homeless guy over the trust fund escort on this one, she seems rather cold, shooting at someone then going out for breakfast like nothing happened. Considering they were in the vehicle when he banged on the windows asking them to turn down the music, they should have left and called police rather than handling things themselves at 3AM in downtown Nashville. Why would you get out of the vehicle with him there if you felt he was threatening ?

'He came at her, she fired what she thought was a warning shot and fired a second one when he kept coming at her.

'She ran back to the car and left with her friend,' her father said.

The pair then went to a restaurant to have breakfast and Quackenbush 'kept her composure probably better than any police officer would have,' her father said.

When they returned to the scene so that her friend could finally retrieve her car, it was swarming with police and had been taped off.

'The next day they're hearing in the news that police are looking for two blonde females who shot a homeless man,' Mr. Quackenbush continued.

there is no violent arrest record for Melton only trespass, no police record of him threatening others, as her father claims.

Lots of fail in this as a self defense shooting, I wouldn't want to be in her shoes.

Whether I believed her or not, or him, yes, there is a lot wrong with this incident. Fortunately for her, I guess she won't have to depend on a public defender to try to get her out of legal trouble.
Everyone can serve as an example, whether it's a good one or bad one.
