A short story from Cali

Post by bignflnut »

http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-m ... 20followed a worker into the Ronald Reagan State Building in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday morning was shot and killed by a California Highway Patrol officer, authorities said.

The building was not open to the public when the the man followed an employee into the building just after 6 a.m. and kept his hands concealed in a bag, said California Highway Patrol Sgt. Saul Gomez. The man then shouted at employees at a security checkpoint to “get down on the floor.”

“He was taking an aggressive shooting stance,” and employees dropped to the ground, Gomez said.

That’s when the man was confronted by a CHP officer who fired at him three times, fatally striking him, officials said. The officer was uninjured, and the suspect has not yet been identified.
This small story has it all:
A) Government building, where citizens are generally not legally able to carry weapons. This is Cali, is there ever a call for concealed carry?
B) Someone declares nefarious intentions and orders the law-abiding to do his bidding.
C) Good guy (has to be government official, because everyone else is forbidden from Keeping or Bearing Arms here) produces weapon, shoots thrice, ends threat.

Lucky that someone was nearby with a weapon, as the employees would have been prosecuted had they possessed a weapon capable of effective self-defense. THEY needed to lick the floor.

Proof positive that we need to be able to carry a cop around if we're going to disarm at the hospital, church, school, government building, etc...
