Isn't this kind of nonsense the reason behind this website?Brian D. wrote:Sadly, Chuck, I've met people who "connect the dots" EXACTLY that way. At least they're honest enough to admit their intentional bias, when they say,
as admitting those situations wouldn't fit their agenda. Also many self defense situations with a gun don't lead to a homicide, so that doesn't count either. Another thing they say is,Any homicide that is legally determined to be in self-defense is documented and removed from the Concealed Carry Killers database and the ongoing tallies.
I guess it was about a year ago or longer, I looked at a few of the examples presented. One of them was 3 yrs old at the time, and I think it said "charges pending." I can't recall right now which case it was. I googled it at the time and I couldn't find anything other than the original story, which the shooter claimed self defense. I couldn't find anything about charges or convictions, or a grand jury ruling on it. There should've been one but like I said I couldn't find it with google.Only a tiny fraction of these cases are ever ruled to be in self-defense.
Strangely, when an anti gun relative talked about this guy, I assumed she was going to bring up guns as being at fault, but she instead blamed legal gambling.
