Names of CCW permit holders are not except from public disclosure.

while it's legal for ABC7 to post the names and addresses of the CHL holders, there were exceptions put into the law so that certain names could not be publicly disclosed.

I'm not having any bad feelings toward the Sheriff.
The law is the problem. That data is not private and the Sheriff has to abide by that state's open records law, just like Ohio Sheriffs do.
And the Sheriff sent a letter to ALL the people whose info was going to be released.
